The Breakfast Tree
The Breakfast Tree
Supporting the Breakfast-on-the-Go Program for Lead Elementary School
The first project of Ministry Where You Are is The Breakfast Tree which will supply the breakfast-on-the-go program, supporting the students at Lead Elementary School in San Mateo. This ministry outreach will provide year round support, providing healthy, non-perishable breakfast items so that every child has a great start to their day. This is another way we provide transformative service to our community and beyond.
Anyone can participate no matter where you are, by purchasing non-perishable breakfast items (see list) or contributing financially.
Monetary donations can be made via Givelify (Breakfast Tree Ministry) or all other ways of giving mark Breakfast Tree Ministry in the notes.

Be Made Whole
Be Made Whole
Be Made Whole, Bishop Brian R. Thompson’s ministry initiative for the West, is about building the Kingdom of God.
Through this initiative, we will reach those who are forced to live on the margins of life by offering a weeks’ supply a non- perishable food and basic hygiene items. In addition, we will offer them the most precious gift anyone can offer: The good News of the Gospel.
People don’t care what you know until they know how much you care. This initiative is designed to make every church in the Western Episcopal District a place of refuge where people can come to get the help, resources and a hand-up rather than just a hand out. Like the man at the pool of Bethesda who laid there for 38 years, unable to get to the healing water, Jesus is calling us to ask those who live in physical, mental, emotional, relational or spiritual lack “do you want to be made whole?”
Each willing member will be given two Be Made Whole knapsacks at a time, to distribute as needed. We will also offer the San Mateo Police Department knapsacks to distribute when they encounter someone in need and will be reaching out to other local agencies as well with the offer of partnership in this effort. Our ultimate goal remains the same “to bring people to Christ by taking Christ to people.”
CarePortal
CarePortal
CarePortal serves any child in crisis. Jesus cast the widest net of love, tearing down cultural biases and promoting radical, personal generosity and concern for those in need. With that example, CarePortal brings together diverse constituents – government agencies, churches, businesses, schools, and other ministries – to support children and families in crisis regardless of race, religion, gender, age, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, nationality, political leanings, etc. If we find any of our partners are discriminating against the children and families they meant to unconditionally serve, they will be removed from the network.
